We see you, we hear you. Your goals guide our intervention.
Our Services
-
Our assessments are goal focused and comprehensive. We assess your functional performance in everyday activities at home and in the community, focusing on relevant areas including mobility, self-care, communication, social interaction, learning, and self-management.
We provide recommendations to help keep you in your own home and maximise your safety and independence. This can include education and training on alternative ways to complete difficult daily activities, trial and provision of suitable equipment, home modification, and referral to other relevant community health services.
Our therapists have sound knowledge of funding bodies including the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), iCare, and the Aged Care system. We help ensure you have the right level of support and funding to achieve your goals.
-
Home modifications can enhance your safety, independence, and enable you to stay in your own home.
Our therapists are trained home modification specialists, and we find it a privilege to see you become more independent and confident within your environments through our interventions. We produce professional reports with scaled drawings of modifications.
We have experience working within the parameters of funding criteria and Australian Standards, and we work collaboratively with you, local tradespeople, and the team around you, be it family or other health professionals, to problem solve solutions, promote independence, and enable you to age at home.
Our therapists have experience prescribing *:
Minor modification:
- Grab rails
- Handrails
- Door widening

- Lever taps
- Handheld showers
- Stair modification
- Pathways

Smart home technologies are becoming more common for all Australians. For our aging population and for those with a disability, home automation can be life changing. It can enable someone to complete a task they may otherwise not be able to do. It can enhance a person’s safety, security and independence and allow them to remain in their own home for as long as possible.
Our therapists have experience in the prescription of home automation, including but not limited to:
- Home access – intercoms, doors
- Gates
- Lighting
- Heating/cooling e.g. air conditioning, fans
- Blinds, shutters and awnings
- Kitchen cupboards and benches
- Appliances
- Emergency calling
-
If you are finding everyday tasks difficult there may be assistive technology to help. Our team of skilled therapists work with you to identify suitable assistive technologies to help you achieve your goals and enable you to do everyday tasks safely and independently.
We are highly trained in assessment and prescription of simple and more complex equipment, including (but not limited to):
• Bathroom and shower aids
• Kitchen aids
• Transfer aids
• Wheelchairs
• Mobility scooters
• Seating and body positioning supports
• Pressure care
• Portable ramps

Occupational therapy isn’t just about equipment and modifications—it’s also about building skills, confidence, and independence. Capacity building supports help people develop the abilities they need to manage everyday tasks, whether that’s getting dressed, preparing meals, using public transport, or organising their daily routines.
At You Therapy Services, we work alongside our clients to break down barriers, teach strategies, and build lifelong skills. Our goal is to empower people to live as independently and confidently as possible.
-
When it comes to finding the right living environment, one size doesn’t fit all. Our Occupational Therapy Housing and Support Needs Assessments help determine the best housing and support options for individuals based on their needs, goals, and daily challenges.
Whether it's assessing eligibility for NDIS-funded supports like Supported Independent Living (SIL), Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), or Individualised Living Options (ILO), or preparing a Priority Housing report for social housing, our assessments provide the clinical justification needed to support funding applications.
At You Therapy Services, we take a person-centred approach, considering daily routines, mobility, safety, and support needs to ensure clients have access to the right housing and services to live as independently as possible.
